Breton and Norman Ciders

All of our French ciders are made only using unsweetened fermented pure juice. The required sweet/dry level is obtained by stopping the fermentation by centrifuge.

We are also pleased to offer an authentic Normandy organic cider or cidre biologique.

According to the strict regulations that pertain in France regarding the making of cider, the "fizz" in our cidres bouchés comes from replacing the natural fermentation gasses that were taken out during filtration and centrifugation.

Breton Ciders

Kerisac cidre bouché brut

Less brut than its Norman counterparts, a delicate cider to accompany those delicate flavours in dishes such as fruits de mer. Perfect on a warm summers day.

Very attractive wine-type label in red, black & gold. Fully filtered, in a "champagne-style" bottle and wired-down mushroom cork. ABV 4%

Kerisac doux

A sweet version of the above cider. In order to produce a sweet cider in France the fermentation has to be stopped early so that the natural sugar from the apples remains in the product.

Kerisac brut petit

A full-flavoured sparkling Breton cider, packaged in a handy bar-size quarter litre bottle with a crown cap. ABV 4%

Kerisac Traditionnelle

A chunky farm version of the Kerisac above, which is allowed to re-ferment in the bottle. This makes it slightly stronger at between 5.5% and 6% ABV and somewhat drier. Packaged in 75cl "champagne-style" bottle and wired-down mushroom cork.

A soft full-flavoured cider nurtured under the warm Brittany skies. Made from fully ripened Breton varieties, these ciders now carry the AOC for the region.

The "consumer-friendly" labels show breton peasants seated on barrels sampling the goods.

Partially filtered in a clear litre bottle or in the BAR-SIZE 33cl both with a crown cap. .

This well-balanced authentic Norman dry cider with its hint of pear is a perennial favourite in either of the sizes that are offered.

The attractive label bears a representation of part of the famous Bayeux Tapestry which lends the product added appeal to those who have travelled to the area.

Cidre Bayeux brut traditionnel

Made with some pears, this classic cider has a "bittersweet" edge reminiscent of our own west-country farm ciders. The label depicts a Norman archer - 1066 and all that! Partially filtered and inclined to be cloudy, the bottle has a handy screw cap. ABV 4.5%
